Watering habits that saved my plants

Most of my early losses came from watering too often rather than too little.

I now check the soil with a finger before watering. If the top few centimetres are dry, the plant gets a deep drink until water drains out.

Morning watering works best on a sunny balcony. Plants go into the heat with full roots, and the leaves dry quickly afterwards.
